The following is the basic character of Japanese language, these character are called Hiragana.
They are the main characters, they form the Japanese words; there are other kind of characters which form the "Japanese words" translated from foreign languages.
Hiragana has 3 sets, the first set is the "base" characters, called seion 清音;
the second set is called dakuon/handakuon 濁音・半濁音;
the last set is called youon 拗音.
The alphabet after the character is how you input this character in a computer, also the pronounciation of that character unless there is a bracket.
